Danny Newman Counsel
Danny heads the Defense and Aerospace practice at SWA, focusing on corporate, commercial, regulatory and the international trade aspects of large-scale transactions, with a particular emphasis on the defense and aerospace industries.
Both U.S. and international clients plug into Danny’s comprehensive experience in drafting, negotiating and structuring complex cross-border transactions. With more 15 years as the Deputy General Counsel for the Israeli Ministry of Defense (MOD) in New York, Danny has a deep understanding of how to negotiate procurement transactions, commercial contracts, as well as advising the IDF and the MOD on U.S. Foreign Military Financing & Sales programs and U.S. Commerce and State Department export/import regulations, intellectual property and personnel issues..
Previously, Danny’s practice comprised a diverse litigation practice at a New York City law firm and five years as Assistant District Attorney where he presented over 250 cases to the Grand Jury and tried over 30 cases to verdict.
