William Galkin Counsel

William heads the Information Technology, Intellectual Property & E-Commerce practices at SWA, with a particular focus on providing general IP advice to a range of corporate clients.

William has more than 20 years of experience in advising companies at all stages of development on drafting, structuring and managing relationships in the Internet, e-commerce, IT and computer law areas. His intimate understanding of these spheres help clients to derive maximum benefit from their licensing, development, alliance, distribution and outsourcing arrangements.

William’s vast depth of IP knowledge has seen him serve as adjunct professors of Computer Law at the University of Maryland School of Law as well as adjunct professor of Business Law at the Merrick School of Business at the University of Baltimore. In addition to the corporate clients he represents, he also served as Special Intellectual Property Counsel for the Office of the Maryland Attorney General.
